A luxury version of home from home. This is the first time we have been able to get in at the Wingrove and the wait has certainly been worth it: helpful and accommodating staff, fabulous breakfast and meals, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet and we look forward to many more visits.

The jewel in the Downs. I'm a regular with my wife and friends at this perfect hotel. It carries off a precise blend of high-class service, decor and food with an informal, pleasant atmosphere.
I've popped in for a cup of tea or sat down for a full-blown dinner on many occasions and it provides the sort of apparently effortlessly enjoyable experience that of course is only achieved by their know-how and hard work. All this in an idyllic village in the heart of the Sussex Downs - it's too good to be true.

A real find! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by a log fire in a cosy bar and a friendly atmosphere, we knew we were on to a winner.
However, it just got better and better. The rooms were tasteful and very comfortable. Throughout the hotel there is a real eye for detail and it oozes charm. The food was excellent and good value for money. Nick, the manager, couldn't have been more welcoming and looked after us as if we were Royalty, even driving us to the start of our long walk on Saturday!
Throughout the weekend he kept checking if there was anything he could get us. All the staff were efficient and friendly. We will definitely go back and will certainly recommend it to our friends without reservation.

A real gem: charming, welcoming and elegant. My stay at the Wingrove was beyond wonderful, so much so that I hated to leave. My room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom modern and spotless, the grounds and garden enchanting, the service impeccable.
Nick, the perfect host/manager, was so solicitous, enquiring whenever he saw me if there was anything I needed. I've traveled extensively, and the Wingrove ranks with my favorite accommodations. Drinks by the fire before dinner was intimate and cosy and the food, including the fabulous full breakfast , as well as the lunch and dinner menus, was superb.
This hotel, in glorious Alfriston, is as good as it gets, and I can't wait to go back.
