We really enjoyed our stay last weekend. The staff at Wingrove House H are very welcoming and helpful, and we really enjoyed the generous breakfasts and the ambience and food of the evening restaurant. There are many small details of care that make up the whole in a place like yours and we wouldn’t want you to change a thing. Dan McLean, March 2012 Wingrove House is beautiful and welcoming – log fires, candles and tea and lovely homemade biscuits brought to our stunning room. Breakfast to die for – excellent quality, all the papers, and fabulous service. We were offered fruit, muesli bars and a flask to take with us, and a lift out of the village and out of the snow. Above and beyond the call of duty – go – book it now – I promise you won’t regret it. Can’t wait to return – thanks Nick and team. Restaurant fab too – busy buzzy and great menu, fab after a long days walking. Great location too. Zoe Harris February 2012 Thanks for making the effort to fit us in last Saturday, it was much appreciated. The food was truly superb , and we were of the opinion that the venison was the best either of us had ever tasted. Starters were similarly great, especially the posh “pork scratchings”! All rounded off with puds to die for. Could you pass our thanks on to the chef please (and so you don’t feel left out, to you too for employing him !) Thanks again Nick, we all had a great evening. Nick Cattell February 2012 Great welcome, beautiful setting, lovely room, which was very clean and comfortable. Alfriston is a gem to visit and Wingrove House adds a sparkle to a delightful mini-break. Wonderful food in the restaurant and we overhead other guests saying what a find it was. June Hills January 2012 I wanted to put in writing how much we enjoyed ourselves on Monday. It was my third visit and the food was wonderful, the service brilliant and you made us feel welcome. I know the Birthday Girl was really pleased. Please can you pass on our thanks to all the staff. Cathy Dean February 2012 We have stayed at this lovely hotel on a number of occasions and have always thoroughly enjoyed our stays. Delightfully relaxing, with a chilled out atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. For us, the blend is just about perfect… coffees and a book in front of the log burner, walks on the South Downs, followed by an evening relaxing in the excellent restaurant which boasts a mighty fine wine list. Perfect antidote to the stresses of work… Highly Recommended. Peter Greenwood November 2011 Everyone was so friendly and quietly efficient and a real credit to you. The ambience, the food and the quality all combined perfectly – we just wish we could have stayed a night or two longer. Dave and Helen Nash, Oct 2010 I had to write immediately on my return, firstly to say what a wonderful time we had at Wingrove House. It was utter perfection and was truly one of the best weekend breaks I have ever had. I have never been made to feel so welcome, SO spoilt and so special. I would love to come again now that I have found such a heaven on earth. Diana Adshead, Menorca, Sept 2010 Great atmosphere. Lovely food. Brilliant staff. Superb setting. Our cups flowed over…Thanks for making it such a brilliant weekend. John Taylor, Sept 2010 A luxury version of home from home. This is the first time we have been able to get in at the Wingrove and the wait has certainly been worth it: helpful and accommodating staff, fabulous breakfast and meals, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet and we look forward to many more visits. Ruth Shammah, Manchester, October 2009 The jewel in the Downs. I’m a regular with my wife and friends at this perfect hotel. It carries off a precise blend of high-class service, decor and food with an informal, pleasant atmosphere. I’ve popped in for a cup of tea or sat down for a full-blown dinner on many occasions and it provides the sort of apparently effortlessly enjoyable experience that of course is only achieved by their know-how and hard work. All this in an idyllic village in the heart of the Sussex Downs – it’s too good to be true. Guy Lloyd, London, October 2009 A real find! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by a log fire in a cosy bar and a friendly atmosphere, we knew we were on to a winner. However, it just got better and better. The rooms were tasteful and very comfortable. Throughout the hotel there is a real eye for detail and it oozes charm. The food was excellent and good value for money. Nick, the manager, couldn’t have been more welcoming and looked after us as if we were Royalty, even driving us to the start of our long walk on Saturday! Throughout the weekend he kept checking if there was anything he could get us. All the staff were efficient and friendly. We will definitely go back and will certainly recommend it to our friends without reservation. Mrs Higgins, Herts, October 2009 A real gem: charming, welcoming and elegant. My stay at the Wingrove was beyond wonderful, so much so that I hated to leave. My room was beautifully decorated, the bathroom modern and spotless, the grounds and garden enchanting, the service impeccable. Nick, the perfect host/manager, was so solicitous, enquiring whenever he saw me if there was anything I needed. I’ve traveled extensively, and the Wingrove ranks with my favorite accommodations. Drinks by the fire before dinner was intimate and cosy and the food, including the fabulous full breakfast , as well as the lunch and dinner menus, was superb. This hotel, in glorious Alfriston, is as good as it gets, and I can’t wait to go back. Victoria Secunda, Connecticut, October 2009 We’ll be back! Just wanted to say thank you to you all for giving us a lovely break again – delicious food and all comforts thought of! Gill and Bill Wade, Kent, November 2009
